Scope of Project: In seeking effective emergency management in earthquake-prone Istanbul, leaders of responsible parties desire the immediate access to and use of spatial data to inform decisions regarding emergency response and quickly disseminate information.  UAVs will play a key role by accelerating the processes of data collection, analysis, and communication. A system was devised to collect post-event aerial photography using a UAV, conduct immediate mosaicking of photos, and automatically identify damaged buildings.
